This course covers the essential skills needed to begin using the PowerBI Desktop to produce Visual Reports and learn how to bring data into the Power Query Editor to transform into Power BI.
The course will give a good overview of Power BI Desktop and is aimed at beginner level with no need for previous experience. You will learn how to bring your data from an Excel file or CSV File into the Power Query Editor and then load into Power BI while discussing the essentials of Data Cleansing. You will learn some basic Dax formula along with an understanding of the Data Model. By the end of this course you will have learnt how to create great visuals in Power BI such as Composition and Comparison Charts, along with Cards, Tables and Images.
The course is for beginners and will focus mainly on the PowerBI Desktop with some time spent also in the Power Query Editor. The emphasis will be on the Visuals in the Desktop and will simply touch on publishing to the PowerBI Service at the end of the day but all learning will be completed in the Desktop.
A Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel would be advantageous.
