Essential Skills Courses

Booking & Access Guide

The Essential Skills are a suite of courses that can be booked via the CIF Training website. They are e-learning courses, which is electronic learning, and means using a computer to deliver the entire course, to be taken in your own time.

These courses are delivered by StartMyCourse.com.

Below is a guide to help you book a course.

Adding Participants

When booking, each participant’s name must be added.

The system automatically calculates the number of course codes required based on the names entered.

A unique course code is required per person to ensure each individual can access the course.

After Payment

Once payment is completed, a booking confirmation email is sent to the booker only (not the individual participants).

This email comes from [email protected]. The email includes:

  • A CSV file
  • Unique course codes
  • Access links

It is the responsibility of the booker to distribute the codes and links to the relevant participants.

Participant Access & Course Completion

Participants can:

  • Click the link provided in the confirmation email; or
  • Go to www.startmycourse.com, enter their name and course code.

Once a code is used, it becomes locked to that participant’s name and cannot be changed.

On successful completion of the course:

  • A certificate is issued automatically
  • The certificate will always be available to download using the participant’s name and course code.
