Sean Downey Director of CIF Learning & Development Department. Sean has responsibility for developing and guiding the CIF’s policy in these areas. Along with shaping policy, the role involves liaising with Government departments, the Education sector and members, and providing assistance with member’s regulatory compliance from a health and safety perspective. Included in this role is the operation of the Safe- T-Cert accreditation service and its day-to-day operations in the Republic of Ireland.

Conor is The Head of Learning and Development (L&D) at the Construction Industry Federation (CIF). Conor plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational and professional development landscape for the construction industry. This role involves strategic planning, program development, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the delivery of high-quality training and development initiatives.

Alex Broadberry

Business Development Executive

Alex Broadberry is responsible for liaising with construction companies to understand and address their training and educational needs. As the Business Development Executive, Alex is committed to driving business growth and supporting the construction sector through our suite of  course offerings and tailored learning solutions. He manages marketing initiatives, represents CIF at industry events, and promotes the organisation’s services while identifying new business opportunities. Alex plays a key role in strengthening relationships with industry partners and expanding CIF’s market presence. His efforts ensure that CIF delivers high-quality training and development programs, enabling both members and non-members to achieve their professional goals. Through his strategic leadership and dedication, Alex is instrumental in the ongoing success and growth of CIF’s educational offerings.

Administrator, Learning & Development

Kim plays a pivotal role in coordinating CIF training courses certified by IOSH City & Guilds and CIF. She is responsible for ensuring that all courses are delivered to the highest standards set by these certifying bodies, while maintaining full compliance with industry regulations. Kim manages the scheduling and logistics of course delivery, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.

In addition to her coordination duties, Kim oversees debt management and credit control for CIF training programs, ensuring smooth financial operations and timely payments. For any queries related to credit or invoicing, Kim is the primary point of contact.

Laura Moroney

Administrator, Learning & Development

Laura plays a pivotal role in coordinating CIF training courses certified by City & Guilds & CIF. She is responsible for ensuring that all courses are delivered to the highest standards set by these certifying bodies, while maintaining full compliance with industry regulations. Laura manages the scheduling and logistics of course delivery, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.

In addition to her coordination duties, Laura oversees all CIF course renewals, ensuring that member employees stay up to date with best practices and legislative changes pertinent to their roles, particularly for courses they have previously completed, such as CSMP and SSSP. For any course renewal queries, Laura is the primary point of contact, providing guidance and ensuring timely compliance. She also manages the course calendar and oversees tutor allocation, ensuring that the right expertise is delivered for each program.
