The Asbestos Awareness course provides learners with essential knowledge about asbestos, its associated health risks, and the measures used to identify, manage, and control asbestos-containing materials.
Learners will gain an understanding of legal responsibilities, asbestos surveys and registers, and the actions required if asbestos is suspected or accidentally disturbed.
Asbestos remains one of the most significant occupational health hazards in buildings and workplaces. This Asbestos Awareness Training Course provides learners with a clear understanding of what asbestos is, why it poses serious health risks, and where asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are commonly found.
Participants will learn about the legal requirements surrounding asbestos management, including the responsibilities of employers, building owners, facilities managers, contractors, and workers. The course also explains how asbestos risks are identified, assessed, and controlled through asbestos surveys, registers, and management plans.
Practical guidance is provided on recognising asbestos hazards, preventing accidental disturbance, and responding appropriately in the event of damaged asbestos-containing materials or a suspected asbestos release.
