The CIF have developed a half day briefing on the  UK Building Safety Act which was passed in April 2022. Commentators have flagged this legislation as a seismic change in UK construction operations. While some provisions became applicable immediately, the majority of them will be enacted through secondary legislation following a consultation process which is currently underway in the UK.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

The Building Safety Act was passed as a reaction to the 2017 Grenfell Tower tragedy, where a 24-storey apartment block in West London caught fire and killed 72 people.

BSA will impact the design, construction, and operation of buildings throughout the country, requiring a ‘golden thread’ of information and records. Starting in October, these rules will be enforced by the Building Safety Regulator.  That means there is no time to delay understanding the legislation especially if you operate in the UK. This Seminar will help explain these different facets of the Building Safety Act and the actions you should be taking to comply.
