Training Course Information
The updated Code of Practice for Access & Working Scaffolds will be released in October 2018 as an updated version of the existing 2008 Code of Practice. CIF Learning & Development are planning a number of half-day briefing sessions regionally to advise our members of the key changes and how these will impact site scaffolding activities.
The Code of Practice for Access & Working Scaffolds will go live approximately within two weeks of it official launch date, so there is a limited window of opportunity to get to grips with the key changes.
The briefing will be led by Mr Richard O’Mahony who is a lead tutor on the CIF Management & Inspection of Scaffolding program & the CIF IOSH Managing Safely in Construction Scaffolding & Working at Heights modules. Richard is seen as a highly competent and effective professional who will bring delegates through the key changes within the revised 2018 Code of Practice providing clarify on how these key changes impact work on site.
Who should attend
This program is an update requirement for those who have already completed the 1-day CIF Management & Inspection of Scaffolding program and priority will be given to these delegates as it will allow their CIF Safety Management card or the New CIF Verification of Competency card to be updated. Delegates will benefit from this update as they will have a better understanding of the key changes and be able to implement these on site from the planning stages of scaffolding systems while taking the changes into account during the inspection process.

A CIF CPD certificate will be awarded to all attendees.
Those delegates who are attending who have already completed the 1-day CIF Management & Inspection of Scaffolding program since 2nd. December 2008 will be required to attend the half-day which will update their current CIF Safety management card or the New CIF Verification of Competency card.
If you attended the CIF Management & Inspection of Scaffolding course before 2nd. December 2008, then the full one-day course must be attended to update your card as this was the cut-off date for the previous H.S.A Code of Practice for Access and Working Scaffolds.
The fee for the Code of Practice for Access & Working Scaffolds 2018 update is
€195 for CIF members and €265 for non-CIF members.
