Measurement for Mechanical & Electrical Services:

Under recent changes to procedures in public procurement, the quantity surveyor will now to take full responsibility for the cost management of all aspects of the Public Works Contracts, including mechanical and electrical works and works by specialist contractors. This means bills of quantities will now be produced for these elements. This course will give an overview of the preparation and application of Mechanical and Electrical Bills of quantities on public sector contracts.

Changes in Public Procurement & Cost Management:

Under recent changes to procedures in public procurement, the bill of quantities will now be the primary reference document for tender purposes on employer-designed contracts. These changes also direct that where specialist works make up a significant proportion of the overall project value or where they have a significant impact on the long-term performance of the project, direct tendering is to be used. This session will give an overview of these changes, in particular their impact on the procurement of Mechanical and electrical services.
